Preeti Amin Steps into the Role of Older Akshara in Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai Post Time Leap
In a significant casting update for the long-standing show “Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai” (YRKKH) following its impending time leap, Preeti Amin has been finalized to take over the role of the older Akshara, replacing Pranali Rathod, the current lead.
The upcoming phase of YRKKH will see a fresh set of actors joining the ensemble cast, with Shehzada Dhami from “Choti Sarrdaarni” taking on the role of the new male lead and Samridhii Shukla from “Saavi Ki Savaari” stepping into the shoes of the new female protagonist.
Preeti Amin, known for her roles in shows like “Katha Ankahee,” “Jhoome Jiiya Re,” “Dill Mill Gayye,” “Bhaskar Bharti,” “Kasamh Se,” and more, is set to portray the older Akshara in the family drama. She was last seen in “Durga Aur Charu,” which concluded in April 2023 after a four-month run.
Additionally, Shruti Ulfat and Sandeep Rajora have been confirmed to play the parents of the new male lead, Shehzada, adding to the star-studded cast. The seasoned actress Anita Raj is also set to join the series, playing a pivotal role in the new season, as confirmed by producer Rajan Shahi.
Anita Raj, known for her roles in “Tumhari Pakhi,” “24,” “Ek Tha Raja Ek Thi Rani,” “Choti Sarrdaarni,” and “Saavi Ki Savaari,” will reunite with her former co-actors Shehzada Dhami and Samridhii Shukla in the upcoming season of YRKKH.
