The episode starts with Devi Parvati advising Mahadev against granting Andhakasur a boon due to his destructive tendencies, but Mahadev acknowledges the merit of Andhakasur’s penance/tap.
Brahmadev, impressed by Andhakasur’s unparalleled devotion, decides to reward him. Despite protests, Brahmadev asks Andhakasur to request a boon.
Andhakasur asks for two boons, one restoration of his eyesight and two immortality. While Brahmadev restores his vision, he refuses immortality but agrees to grant Andhakasur other boons. Andhakasur cleverly asks for the ability to reproduce from his blood if it falls on the ground and to die only if he looks at his mother with wrong intent. These boons render him nearly invincible. Declaring himself immortal, Andhakasur vows to spread darkness across the universe, starting with Brahmalok. Despite Brahmadev’s warnings, Andhakasur blinds Brahmadev and fills the surroundings with darkness.
Mahadev, enraged by Andhakasur’s arrogance, prepares to confront him. However, Sheshnaag restraints Mahadev, explaining that if Mahadev’s eyes were tied like Brahmadev’s, the universe would collapse. Sheshnaag apologizes, revealing his actions were to protect the universe and that Mahadev currently cannot defeat Andhakasur. Acknowledging the situation, Mahadev directs preparations for a puja dedicated to Narayan in Kailash, believing Narayan can confront Andhakasur and reveal the ultimate truth.
