He jokes that she shouldn’t fall for him just because he’s helping.
The next morning, Sarswati stops Apollena from leaving for her lecture, saying she must complete post-marriage rituals. She then announces that Apollena’s name will be changed, as is tradition, and asks Shlok to choose a new name. Apollena is shocked and refuses, insisting she won’t give up the name her father gave her. Sarswati argues that all women must accept this tradition, showing that Rupa, formerly Veena, had her name changed. Apollena rejects this, calling it an unfair generational trauma.
Shlok intervenes, saying he will change Apollena’s name himself. Instead of renaming her, he tattoos a rocket on her hand, symbolizing her dream of space travel, and declares her name will remain Apollena, only adding his surname. Mahadev supports Apollena, saying she is changing Shlok for the better, but Sarswati feels she is taking her son away.
Apollena thanks Shlok for supporting her. He admits he dislikes these traditions too and takes her to college. However, she faces judgment from students and her professor, who scolds her for not staying in the hostel and accuses her of wasting a valuable seat due to her marriage.
