Sundar fiercely beats up the soldiers, who plead with Meenakshi for protection. Meenakshi stops Sundar and declares that he has crossed all limits and must be punished. However, the Basti people beg her not to punish him, swearing on Mahadev that they will pay taxes. Challenging their faith, Meenakshi demands that they call upon Mahadev if he truly exists. Sundar asks what she will do if Mahadev appears, to which Meenakshi boldly claims she will arrest him and drag him to Arunasur.
To prove Mahadev’s power, Sundar creates a Shivling and challenges Meenakshi to move it. If she succeeds, he will accept her claim. Meenakshi, confident in her strength, ties a rope around the Shivling despite the warnings of Narad, Ganesh, and the people of Kailash. As she tries to drag it, the Shivling remains immovable, glowing with divine energy. The rope burns, and Meenakshi is forced to let go. She accuses Mahadev of being mayavi (illusionary), while Narayan proclaims that Mahadev is the ultimate truth, revered for his love and devotion.
Sundar asserts that true power comes from devotion, not fear, and challenges Meenakshi once more. If she succeeds in moving the Shivling with her strength, the locality people will pay taxes; if not, they won’t. Meenakshi accepts the challenge, determined to prove herself.
