Scene 1
Reet is searching for her laddos when she finds Raghav sitting in a corner in the kitchen and stuffing them. She is surprised seeing him eating those and says he must have stolen them so he wouldn’t have to eat them in front of everyone. She thanks the Lord and goes to tell others. She brings the family there and shows them Raghav eating her laddos. All are shocked seeing that. Divya whispers to Sharda that she hid them in the kitchen and thought he would never find them here. Sharda calls out to Raghav. Reet goes to him and asks if he liked her first cooked sweets? he says what? you made these? I didn’t know that. Reet says you ate them and its a ritual that you have to gift me something. I want a gift. Raghav says I knew you had some motive so tell me. Reet says I know its my first day here so I might be out of line but its important for me. Sharda says then don’t ask for it. Raghav says let her ask, there isn’t anything that I can’t give her. Reet says my job.. all look on. Reet says you took it from me, I have an interview today and have to go to the office. Sharda says our DILs don’t leave the house like this. She tells Raghav to say no. He glares at Reet. Divya says just tell her no, its against her our tradition. Raghav tells Reet that she can go for her interview. Reet smiles. Sharda tells Raghav that he can’t allow her to do the job which brought so much shame to them. Raghav says you wanted me to follow all the rituals and if he denies her then it will be like insulting her so he has to agree. Reet smiles hearing that and thanks him. Raghav leaves. Reet offers sweets to the family but they all leave. Phupa eats them and praises her. Poonam takes it and says well done.
Sharda is angry, Veeran tells her that Reet is too smart for her to control. Sharda says don’t make me angry, I am sure Raghav and Reet would never get along. Veeran says that doesn’t look that way. Sharda says we have to stop Reet from going to the interview. Reet’s mother calls her and tells her about Unnati doing her cooking ritual and asks about Reet. Sharda says she made laddos for him, did you teach her? Reet’s mother says no, Neeta taught her how to make them. She must have called her to take her help. Sharda ends the call and says it means Reet’s real MIL helped her in making her first meal. This can’t be happening.
Unnati gets Raghav’s message that her things will be delivered soon and she messages him to thank him. Unnati comes to the family so Reet’s mother tells her about Raghav eating Reet’s laddos. Unnati thinks she will turn this trash house around.
Sharda comes to Raghav and says she needs to tell him something.
Reet is leaving for her interview but Raghav comes there and says he will drop her off. Reet says its not needed but he says they are married now she can’t be seen traveling in buses. Reet says traveling in buses doesn’t make someone lowlife and my self-respect is important to me. Raghav says you have to respect your married name too. Reet says I will do that but not by changing myself for materialistic things. My married identity is with my name. Raghav says fine but I am your husband so I can drop you off with that right. He holds her hand and drags her to his car while Reet look on. He opens the door for her so Reet gets in without arguing. He says I make sure Unnati never cries so I can at least make sure you don’t sweat. He asks her to wear her seat belt, she struggles so he helps her. Raghav recalls Sharda telling him that Reet called Neeta and took her help to make laddos. He is angry and thinks he would teach her a lesson and make sure she doesn’t get what she wants. He drives away. Reet looks at him and thinks for the first time she feels there is a place for love in their relationship, they might become one but at least they might become closer.
