The episode starts with Atal telling Vimla that she has to guard her self-respect and wait for Alok jijiaji. Awadh says great Atal has found a solution of just wait and watch. Lalitha says even a patient will not get well by just waiting for the the disease to cure, he/she either has to take a medicine or undergo surgery; Atal thinks Alok will come leaving his parents, Alok loves his mother and will never disobey her, he will marry a girl his mother selects for sure. Babban says Alok never disobeys his mother and will marry a girl of her choice for sure.

Alok is shocked to hear about his parents arranging a second marriage for him. He says the place he works, it’s owner changes labors often; Vimla is his wife and not labor that he changes her; will they continue to remarry him if his wives die; he will not marry until he finds out if Vimla is alive or dead. His father scolds him and forces him to sit for the haldi ritual. Alok requests him mother to convince father, but mother warns him not to go against his father as his father is thinking good about him.

Tomar tellls villagers that they should stop wasting time at Vajpayee house and get back to their work as Alok will never come. Villagers walk away to make arrangements for holika dahan. Vimla takes an oath that she will never celebrate any festival if Alok doesn’t come. Atal also take same oath. Villagers create a wooden pit for holika dahan and discuss about Vimla and Atal’s oaths. Alok’s haldi ritual finishes. His neighor visits Awadh and informs that Alok’s haldi ritual finished. Vimla breaks down. KV decides to visit Alok’s house and confront his family.
